UPCOMING STANLEY INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP AND SPEAKEASY FOR STANLEY EVENTS TUESDAY, NOV. 13
Stanley Informational Workshop
Come learn about the Stanley Awards for International Research on Tuesday, November 13, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the International Commons, UCC 1117. The Stanley Awards for International Research are given annually to outstanding University of Iowa undergraduate and graduate students for the pursuit of learning activities in international studies and international research/fieldwork. Karen Wachsmuth, International Programs’ academic programs and student services administrator, will be joined by Elena Osinskaya from the Division of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures, who will discuss language support for grants and the ALLNet program. One of last year’s Stanley undergraduate award recipients, Julia Reynolds, will discuss her research on food culture in the Dominican Republic.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Students, faculty, staff, and current and past grantees are encouraged to attend.
Speakeasy For Stanley
Please join us at Sanctuary Pub on Tuesday, November 13, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for our Speakeasy for Stanley event. Past grantees of the Stanley Awards for International Research, including students from the Nonfiction Writing Program, will read from their work. This event is free and open to the public. Sanctuary Pub is located at 405 S. Gilbert Street.
