Applying for Campus Nomination at the University of Iowa

Applying for Campus Nomination at the University of Iowa

Many national fellowships require that students be endorsed or nominated by their home institution before they may apply to the competition.  Kelly Thornburg, UIHP Scholarships & Fellowships Director works directly with our Undergraduate Fellowships Committee (UFC) to assess the preparedness of each prospective applicant and to offer expert support and resources.  Applicant materials are carefully reviewed by a diverse spectrum of faculty, staff, and past scholars whose opportunity-specific knowledge and experience guide the selection and preparation of our national and international fellowship candidates.

Each of the opportunities included in the list below do not accept applications from individuals operating outside of this process. Interested candidates MUST participate in UIHP Scholarships & Fellowships Campus Nomination process, submitting a complete campus application and in some cases, participating in mock interviews or social events to allow the committee to glean a clear sense of each applicant’s viability within their chosen competition.

Campus Nomination is required in order to compete for the opportunities listed below:

Students self-nominate, but are strongly advised to register intent and/or seek assistance with personal statement and application from the Fellowships Director well in advance of submission deadlines.
