Faculty, fellowship advisors, and successful student and scholar applicants will offer participants:

  • A comparative overview of the opportunities associated with the Fulbright organization » Academic, Research, English Teaching Assistantship (ETA), and creative arts grants.
  • Small group “mini-workshops” which will introduce participants to some of the “best practices” of grant proposal development and connect prospective applicants with competitive sample materials and campus resources.
  • Q & A session with current Fulbright student grantees and experienced UI faculty and staff reviewers and fellowship advisors.


The Fulbright U.S. Student Program welcomes applications from outstanding:

  • Recent graduates » Graduating seniors and recent Bachelor’s-degree recipients should have some undergraduate preparation and/or direct work or internship experience related to the project.
  • Master’s and doctoral candidates  »  Graduate-level candidates must demonstrate the capacity for independent study or research, together with a general knowledge of the history, culture, and current events of the countries to which they are applying.
  • Young professionals, including writers, creative and performing artists, journalists, and those in law, business, and other professional fields.
